Fibre Optic Cables
Patchcords are manufactured using tight jacket cables with Aramid yarn strength members and LSZH jacket. They can be supplied as Simplex, meaning one fibre, or Duplex, meaning two fibres and come in either 3mm zip cable or mini-zip which is 2.0mm.
Patchcords can be supplied in many colours with GREY for 62.5/125 (OM1), ORANGE for 50/125 (OM2 and OM3) and YELLOW for 9/125 (OS1), being the standard.
Pigtails consist of a 1m length of 900um buffered fibre terminated at one end with a connector. These are used for on-site termination of bulk cable.
Mode Conditioning Cable assemblies are designed for longwave (1300nm) Gigabit Ethernet LX applications over multimode fibre. Mode condiitioning patchcords reduce the differential mode delay (DMD) by moving the laser launch to an offset position from the core of the multimode fibre, thus reducing the DMD effects.
